The last Wednesday of the month Nov-Feb you can go to the zoo for free between 9am and 4pm.
Its cold today, so bundle up, bring a picnic lunch and spend just the cost of transporting you and your gaggle of kiddos there.
But the kids will probably want a ride on the new conservation carousel ($2.50) and the train ($1.00). On our summer trek to the zoo, I was able to get combo tickets for $3 each (saved 50 cents per kid).
